Why is HCG so popular? The answer is simple...HCG WORKS! News about HCG has been everywhere lately. It seems like everybody knows somebody who's tried it. It's easy, safe, and affordable… and it works! The recent popularity even prompted Dr Oz to do two TV segments on the program. He recommends that the HCG plan only be done under medical supervision. We couldn't agree more!
What is the HCG Diet? Dr. A.T.W. Simeons, a specialist on obesity and weight regulation, introduced a program that has helped many people overcome weight loss resistance. The program utilizes a natural hormone that is produced during pregnancy called Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG). Dr. Simeons’ theory is that HCG causes the hypothalamus area of the brain to trigger a release of abnormal fat stores. When administered in relatively small doses and coupled with a very low calorie diet, people routinely lose 20-30 pounds in 30 days.
HCG has helped thousands of people lose those stubborn pounds. In addition to weight loss, many patients who have completed the HCG program also experienced many other health benefits, including a drop in cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar.
What does HCG stand for? HCG is an abbreviation for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. This is a hormone that is produced in very high levels in pregnant women and their fetus. It can also be found in all newborn babies and small amounts in men as well.
What does HCG do in the body? HCG signals the hypothalamus which is connected to your pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is referred to as the “master gland” because it helps regulate your endocrine (glandular) system. In pregnancy, the HCG actually triggers your system in a manner that causes your body to mobilize fat stores. These fat stores are turned into nutrients that are utilized by the placenta, so it can fuel the fetus allowing it to grow.
Is HCG safe? HCG is very safe. During a pregnancy women and their fetus produce extremely high levels of HCG with little if any adverse effects. The amount we use to trigger your system for weight loss is a tiny fraction of what is produced during pregnancy. To date, not one of our clients has experienced any adverse side effects from HCG. Additionally, Exclusive Women’s Healthcare only uses HCG from a compounding pharmacy in the USA. Our pharmacy adheres to stringent procedures to ensure purity, strength, and safety. They exceed all guidelines established within their industry. Prescriptions are written, names, dosage, expiration dates, and batch lot numbers are displayed on all bottles per State requirements.
Is HCG safe for men? The HCG hormone used is safe and effective for both sexes. Since being utilized for weight loss over 50 years ago, the hormone has been noted in its ability to help develop better body composition and shed fat at the same time. While the benefits of the hormone can be reaped by either sex, males actually tend to lose up to 50% more weight per day using the same HCG diet. Over a typical 4 week HCG course, this amounts to an extra 12 lbs. of weight loss. For men, who tend to have much higher rates of weight-related chronic disease like cardiovascular disease and diabetes, the loss of fat can significantly reduce the impact of these conditions on their life.
Studies show that men who are able to lose about 10% of their body weight and keep it off can reduce the amount of medications and other treatments required for chronic diseases.
How does HCG help me to lose weight? The Pharmaceutical HCG we utilize in our weight loss program, (real HCG) works in combination with a customized diet program and weight loss counseling. Together, they work to force your body to metabolize the same fat stores we mentioned earlier. The difference is that now your body is going to use those fat stores for your daily energy and nutrition.
Do I have to follow a special diet while I take HCG? Yes. You must follow the entire HCG Diet Protocol as described in Dr. Simeons' manuscript, "Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to Obesity", where he outlines a special 500-calorie-per-day diet that was tested on thousands of patients. HCG is only effective for weight loss if it is taken while strictly following Dr. Simeons' HCG Diet Protocol, including the 500 calorie diet. Taking HCG alone (without the diet) will not cause you to lose weight. HCG takes effect when you reduce your food intake so that the mobilized fat will be used for your body's energy needs. If you fail to follow the diet you will fail to lose weight. If you only follow the diet without taking HCG, you are simply starving yourself because there is no fat in the bloodstream to burn. Simply put, both are required.
Will I be hungry on the HCG diet? On HCG, the vast majority of our customers indicate they were either not hungry (unlike other diets where they were starving), or they felt in control and surprisingly little hunger and had plenty of energy. That aligns perfectly with Dr. Simeons' theories about the fat-releasing properties of HCG; in essence, HCG is helping you get the majority of energy and calories from stored fat instead of only food in your stomach. Everyone is different -- and some report mild hunger in the first week as their body adjusts -- but it has become very clear that the Healthy HCG diet plan is something very special, something out of the ordinary. It is most definitely NOT just a "500-calorie diet". In addition, the HCG diet starts with a "gorging" phase, which helps load the body with calories to use during transition into the low-calorie phase. People who faithfully follow the protocol as outlined by Dr. Simeons in our materials, and stick to it will see fantastic results. We encourage you to TRY it (we have a money-back guarantee) and see for yourself.
Do you offer B-12 with Lipotropic Injections? Yes, we recommend a B-12 Lipotropic Injection weekly from when you start the HCG Diet through the 6-week maintenance. These injections are optional and are not included in the cost of the program. Lipotropic is a fancy word for three amino acids that are essential for the health of your liver. Your liver is the organ responsible for removing fat and toxins from your body, so if it is healthier, it will work better for you. B12 gives you an energy boost, which helps you to burn calories as you move around more. The cost of these injections is 1 for $15 or 3 for $30.
Do I have to exercise while on the HCG diet? No. Exercise is not a mandatory part of the program. While vigorous exercise may increase the amount of weight you lose while on this plan, it is not a significant increase and is not recommended, because on a 500 calorie diet you can easily become too exhausted. That leads to discouragement and frustration. However, we do recommend moderate activity for all of the other benefits you receive, including stress relief and cardiovascular health.
If you are already accustomed to exercising at a certain level and would like to continue, do so, but do not over do it. Pay attention to your body's response. Scale down the intensity of the workouts if: (1) you don't have the energy to get through it; (2) you start feeling ill or light headed; (3) you gain weight the next day; or (4) you don't have the energy to get through the day after you work out.
Our suggestion for those who want to exercise is that you walk for 20 to 30 minutes daily. Walking is great exercise and contributes to your health in a variety of ways. It helps relieve stress, keeps the bowels moving, conditions your cardiovascular system, and encourages better blood/oxygen circulation. When you are finished with the HCG diet regimen and are back on a regular diet you can then pick up the intensity of your exercise routines.
Is HCG Legal and FDA Approved for Weight Loss? In December 2011, the FDA and Federal Trade Commission ordered manufacturers and distributors of homeopathic HCG to stop selling their products. It is illegal to purchase any products that contain HCG without a valid prescription.
While HCG is legal, the FDA has not approved HCG specifically for use as a weight loss treatment. The FDA’s role is to set-up tests and recommends safety parameters of drug related products on the market. As an agency it is not in the medical business, but rather is a food and drug product governing body. Generally speaking, as long as a drug is safe to use, it is up to the discretion of the medical doctor to prescribe it for various conditions they are medically “trained to understand and know the application for”. The doses of HCG used for weight loss are minuscule compared to doses used for other medical conditions that it is approved for. HCG has been used “off label” (meaning not strictly in accordance with the use for which it was approved) in the U.S. for weight loss since the 1970s when it was introduced from Europe, where it was, and still is, in wider use today than it is in the USA.
FDA’s Disclaimer: “This weight reduction treatment includes the use of HCG, a drug which has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as safe and effective in the treatment of obesity or weight control. There is no substantial evidence that HCG increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction that it causes a more attractive or “normal” distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with caloric-restrictive diets.”
